ABOUT US

The Mission of Impact Richmond is to help repair the homes of those in need while helping students and homeowners strengthen relationships with Christ and one another.

We want to take Christ to our community by sending volunteer work crews to spend time with the elderly and less fortunate while providing home repair services. We do this by working closely with Senior Connections, the Capital Area Agency on Aging, to find homeowners whose homes need repair but are on a fixed budget.

We also want to provide a place where students can experience meaningful worship by being the hands of Christ. We provide all of the tools that the students will need to complete their home improvement jobs, as well as a place to stay, and programmed evening activities.

Impact Richmond was recognized by Senior Connections for our ongoing housing assistance and consistent support of community livability for older residents of the greater Richmond region on May 16, 2017.

Impact Richmond is a God-sized dream that started in 2002 after a visit to The Pittsburgh Project. Dedicated volunteers committed to serving Christ began dreaming of a place where students could come to Richmond and work on houses of the elderly and less fortunate. From this dream, we have been able to establish a community of students as the hands of Christ reaching out into a city that desperately needs help. While our programs only operate during the summer, the relationships developed here last throughout the year. Many of our work crews keep in contact with their homeowners and visit each other often.

God continues to bless us with outstanding volunteers and homeowners. We pray that we will have open hearts to all that God has in store for Impact Richmond so that we may continue to be His hands and His feet in the Metro Richmond area.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization. Impact Richmond operates on a budget funded by community contributions and participant fees. Our budget expenses include building materials, all tools needed, food, insurance, promotional materials and staff compensation.
